Manooi’s Fjord Cluster Illuminates Winning Installation at Kitchen Exhibition 2026
At this year's Kitchen Exhibition – one of Hungary’s most prominent kitchen and interior design events, held between February 27 and March 1 at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna – MANOOI’s crystal light composition played a central role in bringing a cinematic world to life.
Our three 160 cm Fjord chandeliers, arranged in a spectacular cluster, illuminated one of the exhibition’s most captivating installations — “The Pirates of the Caribbean.”
When Cinema Meets Interior Design
The 2026 design competition of Kitchen Exhibition invited architects and designers to rethink iconic films and series as spatial experiences. Participants were challenged to translate the visual language, atmosphere, and emotions of cinematic worlds into real interiors, transforming the kitchen into a space for storytelling.
From numerous submissions, a professional jury selected four winning concepts, which were brought to life as full-scale installations at the exhibition. Presented as featured stands, these immersive spaces quickly became some of the most photographed and visited environments of the event.
A Cinematic Space Inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean
One of these winning projects reimagined the adventurous world of Pirates of the Caribbean as a dramatic interior installation.
The space balanced theatrical storytelling with refined material choices, creating an atmosphere that felt both immersive and sophisticated. Natural textures, deep tones, and bold architectural elements formed a striking environment where design and narrative met.
Above the installation, the Fjord crystal chandeliers by MANOOI formed a luminous composition, adding sculptural brilliance to the space.
Fjord – A Cascade of Crystal Light
With their organic silhouette and refined crystal structure, the Fjord chandeliers introduced a dynamic sense of movement and depth to the installation.
Fjord captures the serene beauty of the Nordic landscape, evoking images of sparkling ice and shimmering waterfalls. Its cascading crystal design reflects the organic formations of fjords, where icy cliffs meet calm seas — bringing a sense of natural harmony and elegance into interior spaces.
Its distinctive vertical composition sets Fjord apart within the MANOOI Crystalight Collection, making it an ideal choice for interiors with generous ceiling heights such as staircases, lobbies and atriums — and even kitchens, as demonstrated at the exhibition. In the Pirates of the Caribbean installation, the three Fjord luminaires were arranged in a radiant cluster, their cascading crystals reflecting light throughout the space and amplifying the installation’s dramatic atmosphere.
Whether used as a striking solitaire or as part of a group installation, Fjord adapts effortlessly to both minimalist and richly layered interiors, transforming light into a dazzling centerpiece.
